Our Propeller Shafts are manufactured in a High Quality Marine Grade 316 Stainless Steel. We would normally supply a complete shaft Assembly to include all nuts and keys with every shaft. Please specify if you do not wish this service at the time of ordering.
In applications where there is high torque requirements or restricted diameters, then we use a High Grade Duplex Stainless.
In Order to calculate the shaft diameter required we require the following information.
Maximum Horse Power
Maximum RPM
Gear Box Reduction Ratio(s)
In General we use Lloyds Rules when calculating shaft diameters to provide the "minimum" shaft diameters required for the given Torque.
We Also Provide A shaft Straightening Service, and will supply bar stock if we hold the correct diameter and length required in Stock.
